Information

The Indigenous Peoples Alliance of America was formed in November 22, 2021 as a response to the needs of indigenous people in America to form alliances with the various cultures in America and the various government organizations which can assist us to achieve the American Dream while keeping our own values in place.  This organization is dedicated to bringing the collective knowledge and wisdom of our ancestors and indigenous peoples, to enrich the new technological advances happening today, so we  keep our people grounded in the knowledge of where we came from and to teach those we share this environment with, to respect the land. This will ensure that our children are not lost in the complexity of advancements in knowledge but can remain true to the spiritual roots of their heritage, which will build confidence in their abilities to manage the modern life and not become overwhelmed by the superfluous nature of modern living.

INDIGENOUS PEOPLES ALLIANCE OF AMERICA IS ACTIVELY ENGAGED

AFRICAN TRIBES

We have been working with Friends of the African Union, FAU, for 6 years and we also have close ties with African nations including South Africa, Nigeria and DRC. This collaboration is important to the mission of IPAA, which is to uplift those indigenous peoples who have suffered due to colonialism and other economic and environmental injustices.

The objective is to return the many opportunities that have been exported to foreign countries while Africa has been the source of the raw materials which have generated wealth and employment for these foreign nations, to the detriment of the African people. For example, Africa is a prime location for diamonds. But all the cutting and polishing of diamonds is done in foreign countries such as Belgium, India and China. The time has come to set up cutting and polishing operations in Africa, right next to the diamond mines. This will generate employment and wealth for the local communities.

This same kind of approach will be applied to the different resources that Africa has been the supplier of but have yet to reap the full benefits of these resources.  This is what IPAA is planning to do using the connections we have in Africa and the diaspora of Africans living in the USA.

NATIVE HAWAIIANS

Returning the Hawaiians to their own lands is a priority.  IPAA is dedicated to educating and actively engaging in the empowering of the Native Hawaiians through programs that will seek to reestablish the Hawaiian power structure as it was during the times of King Kamehameha and others. The leadership of IPAA are of Hawaiian descent. The lands of Hawaii have been a source of discomfort for the people of Hawaii who are native islanders or Kanaka Maoli.

Power structures in the 50th state of the US, Hawaii have been reluctant to address this injustice. The OHA of Office of Hawaiian Affairs has to be brought to accountability as the management of the lands and the resources are in dire need of transparency and the leadership needs to become more accountable to the Native Hawaiian people, or it will be exposed for its failure to address the problems that affect many Hawaiians today.

SAMOANS

The Samoan population have migrated to the US and settled here since the early 1800s. Hawaii and Samoa have a long history as there are geneologies that connect Hawaii's monarchy to chiefs from Samoa. The current Samoans came to the US after American Samoa became an unincorporated territory of the US. They were initially recruited by the Navy and settled in Hawaii and Southern California where they were employed in the Navy bases.

The population of Samoans has grown to close to 200,000 in the USA. They have been recognized for their ability to play sports professionally and they now have top entertainers who are descendants of the sturdy islanders of Polynesian descent.

It is the hope of these Pacific Islanders  that they will become recognized as a Native American tribe which has begun to happen in Alaska. The navigator skills of the Polynesians including the Samoans has been studied and there are scientific evidence that they did reach the Americas specifically California, where a Native American tribe in the Santa Barbara region have a skill that is Polynesian in nature, the building of canoes by sewing panels together instead of the regular Native American way of hollowing out the tree trunk. They acknowledge the connection to their cousins from the Pacific.

It is our intention to connect the Native American and Polynesian peoples in a cultural exchange that will enhance what was started perhaps 700 years ago.

NATIVE AMERICANS

The Native American tribes have become a resilient group of people who have remained relative even after the many wars and conflicts with the White Americans who settled this land in the 1700s.  The most important work IPPA is going to pursue is to unite the tribes and bring them together under a national council of tribes, where the affairs of the Native Americans can be properly managed and executed.

This will require the inviting of the Native Americans to join with the Polynesians and work together to achieve a united autonomy, that will build bridges and exchanges between the Native American and Polynesian cultures.

There will also be a movement to include the African and Asian and European indigenous peoples, in this movement where the cultures of our ancestors will be revived and celebrated. The goal is to be able to build a society where the cultures of each people can flourish and enjoy its place in the sun without any fear or intimidation.

More ethnic groups and indigenous cultures are being recruited to join IPAA and form a united front that will have political and social power.
